City Walk Eats: Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food

City Walk Eats: Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food

We love Antojitos!  Not only do you get great food but the atmosphere and live entertainment make for a great experience.  This restaurant doesn’t open until 4pm so it’s a great dinner option and after being in the parks all day, the free chips and salsa that they place in front of you as soon as you’re seated is greatly appreciated.

One of our favourite meals to order here is the Enchiladas Verdes.  Chicken tinga, quest fresco and salsa verde (the mild kind) all wrapped in delicious corn tortillas.

It’s a good size portion and I love dessert so my husband and I will often split this meal and go for dessert later in the evening.

We’ve also had the following meals here and have never been disappointed:

Salsa Trio (Queso poblano, cruda habanero, and chile de árbol).  This is 3 different kinds of salsa varying in their degree of heat.  It was tasty especially if you’re looking for a bit more heat but the complimentary salsa is really good so we likely wouldn’t order this again.

Queso Fundido  (Menonita cheese, chorizo sausage, ancho spice, fresh flour tortilla).  A very rich cheese and sausage dip, this is a good one to split!

Sopa de Tortilla  (Ancho chile broth, chicken, avocado, queso fresco, crispy tortilla).  The main problem with this soup is that it’s so good that I can’t order tortilla soup any where else because I’m disappointed that it doesn’t taste like this one!

Taco Salad  (Beef machaca, romaine, tomatoes, jalapeños, avocado, cotija cheese, chile ancho tostadas, avocado dressing).  Just what you’re picturing…yum!

Fajitas Pollo– (Adobo chicken, sautéed peppers, and onions).  This is your standard chicken fajitas and an order for one is enough to split.

Fried Ice Cream – (Granola crusted vanilla ice cream, raspberry sauce, chocolate chips, churros).  The coating around the ice cream has the texture of a fried coating with all the flavours of churros.  This is a very tasty option to finish off your meal.

On my most recent visit I decided it was time to try something new…

This is one of the restaurants that we’ll make a trip to City Walk for, even if we’re not going to the parks.  All of the made-from-scratch Mexican food along with the live Mariachi music, keeps us coming back for more!
